Our founding members are encouraged to provide input and feedback on our offerings to meet their needs. With over a decade of experience working in some of Silicon Valley's most dynamic consumer technology companies, Melissa is a former Googler and startup veteran who knows exactly what it takes to turn your business idea into a thriving reality. As the founding executive director of The Garage at Northwestern, she has mentored and supported thousands of young entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the ever-changing landscape of entrepreneurship with ease and confidence. Her award-winning book, Founded: The No B.S. Guide for Student Entrepreneurs, has inspired and guided countless aspiring entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams.

Ali Movassaghi

Accountability Coach

Ali's passion for business was ignited at The Garage at Northwestern, where he co-founded a custom apparel business, LOUD. Melissa provided critical mentorship, guiding his company to generate a bit over $100k in their first 6 months. Ali then mentored young individuals from underserved communities on topics like business, justice, and leadership at the Academy Group. With the support of Melissa’s network, Ali began working as an “intra-preneur” at Outer, a Shark Tank-backed outdoor furniture startup. Ali was instrumental in building their sales & CS departments & personally helped bring in over $10M.
